The new Parish Council (PC), following local elections, met on 14 May 2025 & re-elected the Chair, Paul Blackwell.
The Council welcomed the newly elected Woodford & Weedon Ward Councillors of West Northants Council (WNC), Charlie Hastie of Reform & Rupert Frost, Conservative. While Reform will be the party that now leads WNC (previously Conservative), Charlie stated that along with Rupert, they would work to the benefit of parishioners irrespective of party politics – this statement was welcomed by Parish Councillors.
Harry Minns of Byfield Road was co-opted onto the PC along with returning Councillor Pete Davies (Adams Road).
Harry will be focused on road conditions & Pete, information technology.
The PC has been invited to name the new road in Station Gardens (under construction) & are recommending COLES CLOSE in recognition of Kay Coles contribution to the village both as a member/Chair of the PC & lifelong resident.
The PC’s financial accounts for the year ending 31 March 2025 were presented & accepted – it was noted that the PC is in a solid balanced position with a strong balance sheet.
A Police Report was also received, and a number of policies were reviewed.
It was noted that the repairs & painting at the Village Centre have been completed.
