As many of you will know, a planning application has been submitted for up to 45 new homes on land at Grants Hill Way, Woodford Halse (NN11 3DH), along with access roads, parking, open space and landscaping.
The Parish Council has put together a template letter to make it easier for residents who wish to object. You're welcome to use it as it is, or better still, personalise it a bit — planning officers tend to take more notice when letters aren't all identical.
How to use it
- Download the letter.
- Add your name and address at the top.
- Tweak the wording if you'd like to add your own thoughts — even a sentence or two in your own words helps.
- Send it to West Northamptonshire Council's Planning Service before 27/07/2026, quoting the application reference 2026/2240/MAO.
Why we're objecting
- It doesn't fit with the local plans already in place, including the West Northants Joint Core Strategy, the Daventry Local Plan and our own Neighbourhood Development Plan.
- Our infrastructure is already stretched. Over 400 homes have gone up locally in recent years without any real investment to match — roads, healthcare, schools or transport.
- The roads can't take it. The A361 spur and the Byfield roundabout are already over capacity, and many of the surrounding lanes haven't been properly maintained in years.
- Byfield Surgery is full and isn't able to take on new patients.
- There aren't enough local jobs to support a development this size.
- Public transport is limited — the Stagecoach 200 bus is subsidised and could be withdrawn at any time, so most residents would end up relying on cars.
- No secondary school in the village, and Daventry's schools are already stretched by other developments nearby.
- Wider impact on the countryside, village character, wildlife and green spaces around us.
