At the Parish Council (PC) meeting held on the 10 February 2026 and further to the previous meeting, the Draft West Northants Council (WNC) Local Plan again dominated discussion. It was agreed to employ a planning consultant together with a transport expert to formulate the reply to the consultation that closes towards the end March 2026. A public meeting, similar to the one held in 2024 regarding the previous draft plan is being considered to confirm support for the PC’s actions.
Terra Firma, the developer hoping to create a scheme at Pool Farm field had met with the PC Chair, Vicechair, Clerk and WNC Ward Councillor to explore the Council’s view that remains that this development is not needed, flood alleviation is only needed if the site is developed and the site is not easily accessible as well as the infrastructure of the village will not cope with more large development.
Several small planning applications were supported and the PC resolved to confirm that responsibility for the St Mary’s Churchyard maintenance would fall to the Parish providing the Church contributes to the tree work required and continues to maintain the area for at least another year. Unfortunately, a solution has not yet been developed to continue with the Council publication What’s on in Woodford (WoW) but the PC will endeavour to remedy the situation.
